After a monster performance against Kentucky on Saturday, Tennessee junior linebacker Darrell Taylor has been named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week.
In the Vols’ 24-7 trouncing of the Wildcats, Taylor racked up four sacks, including one in which he forced and recovered a fumble, and seven total tackles. Taylor is only the third Vol ever to record four sacks in a single game. Only Reggie White in 1983 and Corey Miller in 2013 have done the same.
On the season, Taylor has accumulated 28 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and seven sacks. This marks the fourth time during UT’s 2018 campaign that one of its players has been given a weekly honor by the SEC.
