The Holly Warlick era at Tennessee is over.
Lady Vol basketball will be finding a new head coach during the offseason after Warlick was let go on Wednesday. The school officially announced the change on UTSports.com and the Lady Vols’ team Twitter account released a video thanking Warlick for her time at UT…
Warlick was the head coach of the Lady Vol program starting in 2012 and in seven seasons she accumulated an overall record of 172-67. She reached three Elite Eights and won one SEC Tournament Championship.
Before becoming head coach of perhaps the most storied women’s basketball program in America, Warlick was the Lady Vols’ associate head coach to Pat Summitt for seven years and was an assistant on Summitt’s staff from 1985 until she took the helm of the program when Summitt stepped down. Additionally, Warlick played basketball at UT from 1976 until 1980, during which time she was named an All-American three times.
If and when more information emerges about this situation, we will update this story.
