Tee is finally coming home.
Or at least that’s what Chris Low of ESPN is reporting. Low tweeted the following very early on Tuesday morning…
“Tee Martin is returning to Rocky Top. The former Vol football quarterback has agreed to a deal to join Jeremy Pruitt’s staff and is scheduled to be on campus Tuesday, sources told ESPN.”
Martin will join the staff on the offensive side of the ball but the details of what exact position he will hold have not yet been released.
Martin was previously the offensive coordinator at Southern California for four seasons. The Trojans found success with Tee on the sidelines, winning the Pac-12 South division in 2015 and the Rose Bowl in 2016. In 2018, USC had the No. 84 offense in America, averaging 382.6 yards per game. Martin was let go after the season concluded.
We probably don’t need to tell you, but Martin was Tennessee’s quarterback during the hearalded 1998 season when the Vols went 13-0 and won the BCS National Championship. During his four years as a signal-caller at UT (1996-99), Martin threw for 4,592 yards and 32 touchdowns.
We will update this story if and when more information becomes available.
