Tennessee has made some extremely well-received staff changes during the offseason, such as the hiring of Jim Chaney and Tee Martin. But, the newest staff movement might not thrill Vol fans as much.
According to a report from VolQuest.com, Tennessee special teams coordinator and safeties coach Charles Kelly is leaving Knoxville for a spot on Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama. He will apparently be coaching the Tide’s secondary.
Kelly is known as a skilled recruiter and he built on that reputation during his one year on Rocky Top. Earlier this week, Maryland made a move to hire Kelly but he turned down the Terrapins. Unfortunately for Jeremy Pruitt and Co., the pull of Saban and Bama was too much for Kelly to pass up.
